“The Long and Winding Road” (Let It Be, 1970): Paul wrote it watching the B842 wind along the Mull of Kintyre, calling the road “the unattainable.” Where Paul’s road never quite arrives, Mike inverts it: his leads “back to me,” memory as homecoming. The road-to-stripes match cut states that inversion.
