“Free as a Bird” (1995) and “Real Love” (1996): John’s late-70s Dakota home demos on cassette, given to Paul by Yoko, completed by Paul, George, and Ringo 25 years after the split. The two feelings Mike names, love and freedom, are literally the two song titles the reunion chose. Nods to the bird’s-eye 1995 “Free as a Bird” video, the canonical prototype for this whole Easter-egg landscape.
